Q: What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
A: For me, the business community is one of the most overlooked, yet most important parts of a city. People often take their local businesses for granted because they’re ‘always there’. But now, more than ever, local businesses need access to resources to help them navigate a changing marketplace. The Chamber fills that role and the more that we can do to help them, the more valuable their membership becomes in the organization.
Q: The best piece of business advice I’ve been given is:
A: People do business with people they know and trust.
Q: Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
A: I love acting in community theater.
Q: What are some causes you care about?
A: Helping bridge the gap between students and business has always been a passion of mine…whether through internships or speaker’s bureaus, providing the next generation of employees and business owners opportunities to learn is a passion of mine.
Q: In my spare time I enjoy:
A: Spending time with our granddaughter and our families

Q:What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
A: Helping businesses share their unique story and connecting them with customers and causes that can help them grow their business. Seeing that come to fruition and the “win-win-win” for all parties, inspires me.
Q: The best piece of business advice I’ve been given is:
A: The Golden Rule: Do unto others as you’d have done to you. We’re not be able to control many outside forces in business, but we can always control how we treat others.
Q: Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
A: Most people don’t know that I started my career in TV news. Working in that industry gives me the skills to help businesses position their messages to media partners. I also love helping people with their public speaking, whether it’s a quick business pitch, seminar presentations, or prepping for media interviews.
Q: What are some causes you care about?
A: My family would tell you, “Teens & Dogs – no question!” Helping the world see the goodness in our teens, dispelling the negative assumptions, empowers our youth. Teens want and need positive input from adults and that looks like many things: volunteering at their events, simply listening to them share about their dreams, investing our time and resources in their organization, to name a few. Dogs – well, I’d bring home every stray if we had the space for them.
Q: In my spare time I enjoy:
A: I’ve had the joy of serving as Booster Club President for the GHS Stowaways Drill Team, the last two years, sharing the stories of amazing young ladies who serve GISD and the community. We’ve focused on building the sponsorships from community partners, to pay for dance costumes, props, team camp, officer camp and student leadership development.
I also enjoy cooking for my family, walking in our beautiful community, and sipping new coffee creations!

Q: What’s the most inspiring part of your job?
A: The most inspiring part of my internship is being part of a team, nothing gets done at the chamber without one another working together.
Q: The best piece of business advice I’ve been given is:
A: The best piece of business advice I have been given is to always be myself, to never change my personality for a certain interest.
Q: Do you have any skills or talents that most people don’t know about?
A: A skill I like to hone in on is my creative thinking when it comes to projects and events. It lets me consider things from a fresh perspective and different angles.
Q: What are some causes you care about?
A: Diversity, equity, and inclusion within organizations and/or businesses. It shows that someone is not afraid to give opportunities to all people. Everyone deserves an opportunity to show their work skills, and having DEI gives everyone a chance, especially for me being a women of color. I want to eventually be able to be give someone the same opportunities that have been afforded to me.
Q: In my spare time I enjoy:
A: I spend time with my family whenever I can. I also like to watch crime fiction mystery shows, and I like playing mind games, and puzzles. One puzzle I am really good at is Sudoku.
