The city’s new director of marketing and communications was lucky to be able to show up for his first day on the job Monday. Three new head coaches will be leading Granbury High School athletic teams beginning in the 2013-14 school year. Cross country head coach Amber Ward will take the helm of the girls track team and will be in charge of both programs. The ribbon cutting for Loop 567 has been cancelled so as not to conflict with the funeral service for Hood County Sheriff's Deputy, Sergeant Lance McLean. The funeral is set for 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the high school football field in Hico, Texas. Loop 567 will open on Tuesday, July 2nd by noon.

KPIR Radio Station - 1420 AM - is back in operation under new ownership. They have offered to play patriotic music over the air during the Fireworks show on Thursday, July 4th starting at 9:45 p.m. This is a great addition to the celebration.
