Ruth's Place held a building dedication ceremony on October 9 at 1411 Crawford St.  The event included a parade followed by dedication of the Mueller building and recognition of sponsors and volunteers to celebrate the expansion of Ruth's Place. GHS National Honor Society Inducts 75 New Members

Seventy-five Granbury High School students were inducted into the National Honor Society at a ceremony held on September 29, 2014, in the Bagby-McMahan Performing Arts Center. Selection was based on the four criteria of the organization:  scholarship, leadership, service, and character.  Students must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 as well as the recommendation of the faculty.  Membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments but challenges them to...

Women in Business Luncheon 9-30-2014

GISD Bond Update - 9/30/14

9/30/2014 Update Update on two fronts: First, the Buford-Thompson Company (the construction manager-at-risk) is proceeding with “punch list” items for the controlled entry vestibules at all elementary and middle school campuses.  In addition, work is progressing on the addition at Oak Woods School, which will be the last part of this project involving all eight campuses.  Completion of the Oak Woods addition is planned for December.  The picture below is of the new...

Ground Breaking - YMCA

The chamber member luncheon was held on Friday, September 19th at DeCordova Bend Estates Country Club.  Heather Harward from H204TEXAS addressed the state water plan. Granbury ISD School Board Hears Academic Accountability Report

The Granbury ISD Board of Trustees heard a state academic accountability report during its regular monthly meeting on September 15, 2014.  Assistant superintendent Carol Howard reported that the district and all campuses met the state accountability standard.  The system, which was developed by the Texas Education Agency last year, incorporates student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps, and post-secondary readiness.  GISD students had a strong performance in...
