Granbury Schools to Dismiss Early on Friday, February 14

Schools in Granbury ISD will dismiss classes early on Friday, February 14, 2014, which is the last day of the fourth six weeks grading period.  Teachers and staff will have professional development following the student release.  Elementary and intermediate campuses will dismiss at 11:45 A.M.  The middle schools, Crossland Ninth Grade Center, and Granbury High School will dismiss at 1:00 P.M.  Buses will transport students home early based on this schedule. A Chamber Ribbon Cutting ceremony was held to welcome Ketzler's Schnitzel Haus and Biergarten on February 4th located at 101 East Pearl Street. Granbury High School To Compete In New Class 5A

Granbury High School is moving up to Class 5A for the 2014-15 and 2015-16 school years.  The classification was made as part of the biennial reclassification and realignment of schools by the University Interscholastic League, a division of the University of Texas at Austin that oversees school extracurricular activities.  The UIL made the announcement on February 3, 2014. Women in Business Luncheon January 28, 2014

The Women in Business luncheon was held on January 28 at Harbor Lakes Golf and Swim Club.  The topic, group networking, encouraged attendees to share their "ideal" day at the office.  Over 70 women attended the event. Delaine Taylor from Delaine's Place was the sponsor. YMCA Land Dedication Ceremony

Several Granbury ISD representatives – including members of the district champion Granbury High School swim team – attended the land dedication for the forthcoming Hood County YMCA.  The ceremony was held on February 3, 2014. Along with chamber of commerce officials, county officials, and YMCA representatives, attending the ceremony were superintendent Dr. James Largent as well as school board members Mark Jackson, Micky Shearon, B.J. Wallace, and Don Walton.  

Topping Out Ceremony - Lake Granbury Medical Center

A Topping Out Ceremony was held for the expansion project at Lake Granbury Medical Center on January 28th.  Guests came early to sign the final beam before it was placed atop the new Medical Office Building.    

Bond Sale Leads to Big Savings for Taxpayers

The sale of bonds for Granbury ISD capital improvements will lead to substantial savings for district savings and a lower tax increase than expected, according to an announcement by superintendent Dr. James Largent on January 31, 2014.
