Granbury Opera House Wins Best Renovation/Rehabilitation for 2014

The Granbury Opera House has won Best Renovation/Rehabilitation for 2014 from the Texas Downtown Association and the Lake Granbury Beautification Council has been bestowed with its Best Downtown Partner award. The Texas Downtown Association held its Annual Conference at the Granbury Resort Conference Center on East Pearl Street. The awards were presented during a luncheon Thursday (Nov. 6).

GMS Hosting Salute to Veterans

Granbury Middle School will host a veterans program on Monday, November 10, 2010, at 6:00 P.M. in the school cafeteria.  This very special event entitled “Here’s to our Heroes” will feature performances by the GMS Band and Choir as well as a presentation by the Granbury Marine Corps JROTC color guard. A Ground Breaking Ceremony was held for Urban Volleyball Club on October 29 at 418 Windsong in Tolar.  Tommy Matthews plans to build a private, indoor gym for the kids in and around Hood County for volleyball and basketball.  Tommy and his wife have cleared an area on their property for the gym and future sand volleyball.

GISD Trustees Approve Construction Price for GHS Transformation & Two Elementary Gyms

The Granbury ISD Board of Trustees approved a guaranteed maximum price for bond projects for the transformation of Granbury High School and for two new gymnasiums at Acton Elementary School and Emma Roberson Elementary School during a special meeting on November 3, 2014.
